CGR Founder Claims 2016 Charlotte Chamber YP Entrepreneur Award
On Thursday, May 27th, the CGR Creative team sat tensely in an auditorium at the NASCAR Hall of Fame amongst the ‘who’s-who’ of the Charlotte business community. Our fearless leader, Julio Colmenares, had been nominated for the Charlotte Chamber’s YP Entrepreneur Award, and the competition was fierce, to say the least. To us, Julio is *the best* at everything, especially when it comes to running a business, but with these things you just never know.
At last, it was time.
The 2015 winner, Nepherterra Estrada of Pride Public Relations, approached the podium with the much-awaited envelope, ready to deliver the news. Luckily, her remarks were brief (and awesome), as not a single breath could be heard from the CGR team; we waited with such anticipation that the edges of our seats began to squeak.
Then. It happened….
We cheered. We hugged. We–almost–cried. We made the distinct ‘I can’t even’ groans of Tina Belcher (props if you know this reference). While we were all overcome with pride for Julio, another profound emotion was invoked that evening – the emotion of gratitude, as we all began to realize how lucky we are. Every day, we come to the office and have the opportunity to work side-by-side with such a remarkable mentor—a mentor that, might we add, will never take credit for anything without recognizing his team.
For this, we are grateful and honored.
