CharlotteBusinessResources.com (CBRbiz.com) was founded by the City of Charlotte in 2012 to foster a successful small business ecosystem for Charlotte-Mecklenburg. CBRbiz.com is an online portal designed to connect local entrepreneurs with the educational, networking, and mentoring resources to start and grow a business.
Charlotte Business Resources wasn’t meeting the needs of their audience. An internal review revealed the brand did not adequately represent the intent of the portal, and users were struggling to find what they needed on the site. An RFP was opened in 2013 to redesign the brand, rebuild the website, and provide marketing support.
AGENCY OF RECORD FOR 8+ YEARS
Since CGR’s first successful logo and website design RFP for CBR in 2013, CGR has worked side-by-side with the City’s Economic Development Department for the past eight years to develop robust, inspiring, and impactful marketing strategies that drive the brand’s growth and support small businesses throughout Charlotte. With proven successes year after year, the City has retained CGR Creative as CBR’s agency of record for another five years.
In 2013, CGR was awarded the contract and completely transformed CBR’s online presence. Relaunched as CBRbiz.com with a new logo and website design, this comprehensive brand overhaul better reflected the City’s expertise and passion for connecting the small business community. Since CBR relaunched, its performance has increased between 10-20% every year with over 155K total pageviews per year.
Leveraging CGR’s strong connection and leadership in the Latino community, CGR also integrated Spanish content onto the site via native translation, allowing this important information to better reach and inform the rapidly growing majority minority of Charlotte’s population.
